My Dearest Jane, my wife, my Valentine…Matthew loves his wife and children and the family life. Yet, the man he used to be, Wallingford, ached for something a little more hedonistic. Debauched. His wife, Jane, seems to be encased by a melancholy and sadness he couldn't quite reach. Jane's been hit with the baby blues, and Matthew is seriously worried. He thinks that his wife is hit with the "husband blues". Matthew's friend came up with a wonderful idea: Ingenuity.Matthew wants his Jane back! After two pregnancies Jane's body has changed. She doesn't feel comfortable with it and she thinks that Matthew can't worship her "new" body anymore. She fears he would no longer desire who she was. Boy, was she ever wrong! What I want, Jane, can not be satisfied with a quick loving. What I want, Jane, is a night, a full night of exploration and sensual pleasures. A night, when I make you mine once again. A night where you come to me with nothing between us.<…>You will accept everything I give you. And you will be loved, Jane. Loved so that you never forget that you are the only woman for me. You always have been. And you always will be.Wow, what a beautiful and sinfully hot little read! Looooved it! Ah, there's one very important word that describes Ms. Featherstone's writing: SENSUALITY! It's oh so ever-present and I can't get enough of that. Yes, I'm gonna admit it. I am a sensuality whore. I'll be soaking it up at every available opportunity.Matthew and Jane are THE perfect couple. Their chemistry is incredibly good. It's so good that it leaps right off the pages! And I just love to see them together. Matthew, you're writing such naughty, yet beautiful love letters. I envy your Jane!Yes, Jane's very sinful Valentine gave her everything!"There is no condition on my love. No end to my desire. Don't put them there, my love."This short story is for free. Yowza! Holy hotness!A Valentine's Day treat for Jane from Matthew. Wow, loved that Valentine's note that "Matty" wrote--it got the recently insecure-with-her-body-after-having-a-baby Jane all hot and bothered and put their marriage right back on track! Loved revisiting these two...please can we have some more of them? Now this is how you write a short (30 pages) story......... 5 stars*Don't miss this if you've read and enjoyed Sinful--it's available free on the author's website* (must sign up for her newsletter to access) Thank you CF!

I absolutely loved “Sinful”, so how delighted I was to discover another little snapshot of Matthew and Jane’s life together. This story takes place three months after the birth of their second child. Jane feels insecure about her body and Matthew doesn’t understand why his wife has pulled away from him.As the mother of three children, I understand completely all of Jane's concerns and anxiety over pleasing her husband. But the way Matthew assured Jane that his desire for her was as strong as ever…SO sweet and sigh worthy! I loved how he told her that the body she now had was because of him, because of the life they’d created out of their passion. Charlotte Featherstone knows how to write beautifully sensual erotica, and this short story is no exception!

Reviewed for THC ReviewsA Very Sinful Valentine is the final coda to Matthew and Jane's story that began in the novel Sinful. I just love this couple and can't get enough of them, but I suppose this novella will have to be enough since it's the last story Charlotte Featherstone wrote about them before dropping out of sight three years ago. In this one, our couple is going through a rough patch in their marriage. Jane just gave birth to their first child three months earlier and hasn't quite been herself since. She's always felt she was plump and plain at best and didn't quite measure up to Matthew's drop-dead gorgeous looks. Now that a pregnancy has rearranged her body, she's feeling extremely self-conscious. She still desires her husband more than her next breath, but she worries that after all the beautiful women he bedded in the past, he'll be disappointed in her body with it's extra baby fat, stretch marks and extra-large breasts. As a mother whose figure never went back to its original shape post-pregnancy, I could really relate to Jane's fear and concern. At first, Matthew is baffled as to why Jane is distancing herself from him and fears he may be losing her, which sends him into one of his brooding moods. With a little help from his best friend, Lindsay, he finally figures things out, and treats Jane to an unforgettable Valentine's Day. The letter Matthew writes to Jane is incredibly sweet and super sexy. But what I like the most is how he reassures her of exactly how beautiful she is to him. The way he shares in the responsibility for the changes in her body was so sweet it made me melt. And the subsequent love scene is smokin' hot. I'm so glad I was able to locate a copy of this story, because it was the perfect way to cap off my Valentine's Day.

I read this the first time back in February and really enjoyed it and rated it 5 stars. My friends here on GR know that HR really isn't my thing and only read them once in a blue moon but I thoroughly enjoyed CF's style of writing and the fact that it was a steamy read. On the whole I generally like my romance to have a bit of steam and allow us to read the sex scenes and not just imply them. Baba, A very good friend of mine here on GR, recommended that I read the main story Sinful that this is related to so I went ahead and got it. Even though I really enjoyed this I was still a little resistant and didn't go ahead and read the main story for a couple of months but finally read it a few days ago and WOW, I absolutely loved it. After reading it and the Sinful: Epilogue I went back to read this again and I loved it even more than I did the last time. This can be read as a little stand alone but it was so much better having the background. I loved reading more about Matthew & Jane and although I didn't think it was possible, I fell in love with Matthew even more!So thank you Baba for recommending these books, I am so glad that you did!

My review contains spoilers and they're mostly my thoughts as I went with the book...Holy f*ck!“But this night is not through. We’ve made love. And now, to the bed, where the f*cking will commence.”So, here goes my pathetic attempt at gaining Matthew’s attentions:My Dearest Sinful (and Pervert) Valentine,Now that you have me rubbing my thighs together and shifting in my chair, come and shag the living daylight outta me. Love you.Always your shameless hussy, MeNow to the original story. I knew there was supposed to be a short Valentine’s Day special story but sadly, I didn’t get CF’s newsletter and so I’m late in reading this. But doesn’t matter. I love my dose of Matthew any hour of the day, any day of the week, anytime in of the month. And God, how I loved reading about him and Jane and getting more glimpses of their life together. This takes place sometimes after Sinful: Epilogue. Jane just had Blossom a few months ago. Since this is her only pregnancy at an advanced age, Jane is feeling insecure about herself. She thinks motherhood has wrought big changes on her personality, just as it did to her body. I believe it was postpartum depression, but I might be wrong. She definitely thinks she won’t be good enough for Matthew anymore. Knowing what Matthew used to be, I wasn’t shocked by Jane’s insecurities. It was a depressing read. Jane doesn’t let Matthew make love to her the way they used to before, all wild and for long hours. This is Matthew’s worst nightmare. He’s cranky and going insane. Even talking to Lindsay doesn’t help much. He has all in life; the family he always wanted, the love he needed… and yet, the love of his life is not letting him in her anymore. How can a hedonistic, debauched man like him, who’s a wild bastard when it comes to his wife, endure this?Hmm, so he does a little something... a letter with naughty little bits of his fantasies *fans herself*. God, this man is still SO HOT, he has me panting after him, again, like he had Jane. F*cking pervert, how I love and adore him!On a bit of an off note: I was thinking of Derek and the last scene of Dreaming of You. I know from reviews and discussions that many had problem with that scene, which I thought was freakin’ HOT, because it was Derek (who always makes my knees go weak, much like Matthew) and Sara, whom I adore as much as Jane. I do believe I’m gonna go and smoke now. Damn that man! Both of them! Grr.5 stars... or, should I rather say ♥♥♥♥♥?If you want to read this quick, hot novella, try this link but I’ll still recommend that you sign up for CF’s newsletter by visiting her website if you haven’t already. She has promised more such goodies for the future. For more information, check out her blog post.BTW: We need another nicely done up cover for this one. I won’t mind seeing Matthew’s breeches hugging butt one more time. Muhahaha

This is a score sheet review. For the full review with scores please visitMBR's Realm of Romance Score Sheet Summary:Sinful by Charlotte Featherstone is one of those novels that I ended up loving to death. A hero that I could not get enough of, a heroine who was his match in every single way and sensual scenes penned so vividly and erotically that it took my very breathe away, needless to say, Sinful is a novel that I would remember till the end of time.So it was to my delightful surprise that a friend on Goodreads alerted me to this delicious number released I guess in time for Valentines Day and I am so thankful that Charlotte Featherstone like myself hasn’t forgotten the impact that Matthew has on the female senses. This little novella finds Matthew basking in wedded bliss so to speak with that untamed wildness within him roaring its head because his beloved wife Jane has been avoiding him for the past 3 months. A man who has a voracious appetite for anything and everything to do with carnal desires of the flesh, Jane had been the woman to bring him down to his knees and possess his heart for all eternity. So it is a brooding Matthew we find ourselves with, dangerous and turbulent emotions swirling deep inside of him, all the while wrecking his brains trying to think up the reason why his strong and brave Jane suddenly seems to be without the very fire that stirs him up.Jane has her own reasons to be shy around Matthew. Giving birth has put its own toll on her body and needless to say a woman who thinks of herself plain when compared to a husband whose dark vivid good looks is the talk of the town has Jane hesitating to give herself over to her husband, even when she aches to do so.What Matthew does is breathtaking in its eroticism, beautiful in the way that it brought everything female deep inside of me alive and had my senses humming all throughout. Every woman, and I mean every single woman deserves a man like Matthew who can love like he does, without reservations, without conditions, for time and eternity, until death does them apart. Let the sighing fest begin!Cannot recommend this highly enough for those who love Matthew. He is the man!Matthew is the Man!! *Sigh* Rating=5/5Quotes included below the review!

Well, I kinda loved this book and how messed up Matthew, Earl of Wallingford really was. And Jane, the lowly illegitimate bastard castoff turned nurse who was the catalyst for his ability to love another human being. First by physically cleansing his body and then by opening up his shattered mind and spiritually cleansing his soul. Wow! She was a pretty powerful woman! Loved that! That's not to say that Matthew didn't put Jane through her paces. I totally related to the aspect of how poorly he treated her when he first saw her. How he couldn't see the real her behind those spectacles and his hurtful words delivering that shattering blow to her self-esteem. The worst kind of hurt to a woman-he might as well have physically hit her(not in a good way ;). It angered me a lot! As one who has worn glasses (since I was very young) I felt such sadness for Jane. That feeling. The old saying, "Never judge book by it's cover" was never more appropriate than in this story. It was great that Jane was strong enough (I thought) for the both of them. Matthew's demons were ugly. I wanted to really give this 4.5 stars because my only thing was I didn't like her term of endearment "Matty". It was too juvenile and too close to the step-mother aspect of the story (kinda yucky for me). Still...I loved it.

So completely relateable... I loved it... Every woman needs a man who would say this to them...~My God, every change in your body is becauseof me. Because of what we‟ve done. The love we‟ve made. The life wecreated. Yes, you‟ll think me some primitive brute, but I have to say it. Thisbody is because I filled you with my seed, and every lingering change is areminder to me that I‟ve given you something no man ever will.~

After finishing Sinful I was quite disappointed with the ending, however I found out that there was an epilogue to the series and boy was I relieved. This novella did though short was quite the climax for Sinful that I was hoping for.

I won't ever get enough of Matthew and Jane. I wasn't ready for Jane to be questioning her appeal to Matthew but postpartum depression is not logical so the story line was very real life. I am very grateful to get 30 more pages of the two of them. There were lots of spelling/typing errors, some errors made understanding the sentence difficult. It is a free PDF so maybe in the future I'll download it again if corrections have been made.

5 stars.A quick, fun, sexy read. This is a short story (30 pages) and we get to read more about Matthew and Jane. Jane is insecure about her body after the birth of her and Matthew's daughter. Matthew is desperate for his wife and will stop at nothing to claim her again. Loved it, I look forward to any story, long or short, that involves Matthew and Jane.

For those of you who loved Matthew & Jane's story and couldn't get enough of them in Sinful, or the separate epilogue to Sinful, here's another installment. It's a short story revolving around Valentine's Day, and like their original story, it's emotional and sexy and touching. I loved it!

wasn't really a necessary addition to the story...just like a sidestory of the characters after their daughter is born....very short, about 20 or so pages;p
