This book started with two men Henry and Bill mushing. Night falls and they have to make a fire, they also hear wolves howling. The next day one of their dogs is gone, and the next night, another dog was gone, and another. Three of their dogs were gone they kept on trying though to make to McGurry. The next day the sled falls over and Henry has to re-harness the dogs, he notices that one of the dogs tried to creep off but he caught the dog and stopped him. The dog still got away some how though. Henry was tired of the wolves taking the dogs so he got his gun, Bill herd a wolf cry but Henry never came back. That night Bill made camp with two dogs. Wolves came, so Bill got in the fire and threw things at the wolves. Morning came and the two dogs were gone. The wolf pack split up, one of the wolfs and the leader girl wolf wanderd of into the woods together. The next morning the wolfs found a cave, the guy wolf was hungry so he went to go get food. The girl wolf stayed in the cave. When he came back the girl wolf gave a warning to the guy wolf, of not to get near her kids. When the pups got older one of tthem was grey. He was different from the rest of the pups, he stayed by the cave all day and just starred outside. A few days later the the grey wolf went outside all by himself and saw things that he never saw before. His mom went looking for him and she finally found him with a weasel and a baby weasel. The mom took the grey wolf back to the cave and they both went to sleep. Grey wolf saw indians and they were trying to pet him but he howled for his mom. When the mom came the indians tied a rope around her, the grey wolf was scared and worried so he walked off. When ge came back the next day the indians let her free. The little grey wolf was not so little anymore, his mom waas fighting a lynx and she was struggling so he helped her. The wolves won. The indians took the grey wolf and named him White Fang. This book made me feel sorry for White Fang because all of his owners hit him, and all the dogs did not like them. I liked this book because White Fang never gave up and no mater who liked him he just ignored them. What I disliked about the book was his mom forgot about him because she had other puppies and when he got close she growled at him. I reccomend this book to anybody that really likes dogs. This book has wolves of the wild, and one wolf has a big adventure through the whole book. I compare this book to Theif and The Beanstalk because they both had heros that were couragious and helpful to others.

This is an awesome book!!!!!!!!!! It is about a wolf named White fang who first is wild then he is owned by Indians where he is shown no love. Soon his owner gets tricked into being drunk and sells white fang for whiskey to a cruel coward who enjoys seeing dogs fight. Soon the cruel coward sells White fang to some people who care a bit more about him and gives him to two people who truly care for White fang especially Weedon Scott. In the end Weedon is saved by white fang two times: Weedon getting injured and White fang getting help and White fang stopping a criminal from murdering Weedon and his family. Soon Weedon has a happy ending with White fang. What I liked about this book is its from a dogs perspective. I did not learn anything from this book because all the facts it used I already knew but people can learn something from it like how Indians used dogs for sleds too.

A really good book. "The Call of the Wild" was better, but nevertheless, this was really something. Some bits gory, some bits heartbreaking. One chapter in and you can se why this is a classic.

I read this book in my free time while I didn't have wifi. This book is an all time classic and I praise it so much. IT has absolutely everything that you would want from a classic adventure survival book. The book is extremely well written and every detail is there and is put for a reason which will be mentioned later on or will have some sort of influence on what will happen. The settings are explained so well you can honestly imagine every sitting like it's in your room and the settings are very varied and are also not overly complicated but simple and realistic. So the fact that this book is all about wolves and wolf packs. So it is very sophisticated and it treats the reader like they are truly and intelligent mind and isn't afraid to throw out complicated concepts and things that are related to wolf packs such as positions within it like the alpha male the omega of the wolf pack and the alpha female and so on and so forth. Now there are very few flaws with this book and there are so many amazing things about this book its a 9/10 just because there isn't anything super special about it to deserve a perfect 10/10 score because there are some books which I just slightly prefer and have given the 10/10 score.

I didn't like how this book ended even though the synopsis was very clear about that part. But despite that I will give it 4 stars actually 3.5 but the tone and setting pushed it up to 4.I did have trouble finishing this book in one setting and that always factors into my ratings too. But I'm glad I could cross this off my list, it was a good book.Fascinating plot, great characters and really impressive setting.

Jack London is White Fang. An authentic account of a wolf pup's transition to domesticated dog. I particularly enjoyed the way London delineated wolf from dog and animal from man. He wrote so authentically without ascribing human emotion and human intelligence to White Fang and without denying the animal instinct and animal intelligence. I found the section on dog fights hard to read - too graphic for me- but loved seeing White Fang respond to a loving master. I absolutely loved this book. The writing is exemplary.

It's an abridged for children book, but my daughter loved it. She asked me several times, after she had given it to me, if I had started; and, after I did, always asked me where I was in the book. For me, I could tell it was an abridgment from the writing style, even if I hadn't been told, yet it is apparently spot on for a child learning to get into the classics! For myself, I would give it a four, because the story is still good, but gave it a five because of the reaction of its intended audience.

After reading "The Call Of the Wild" by Jack London, "White Fang" provides you an ultimate reading experience. This book is one of the gems by the great author. The animal struggle intensifies; the pain, the agony antagonizes your senses; White Fang's human interactions are completely thought provoking. The satire the author uses will surely overwhelm you and helps in keeping the readers engaged.

My neice enjoyed this book and passed it along. As an abridged version for children it's pretty good. However I would have liked more details.I finished the story thinking about its racial undertones, so I researched more on Jack London to see if it was only me. It's not, he seems to have a history with racism.

This book was actually really interesting to read to my kids. It was nothing like I imagined it would be. The abuse the poor wolf dog faces before finally knowing love is severe. It can open some good conversations about how to treat animals and others.

the starting was too long but other than that it was pretty good. the characters were well thought out, their feeling where shown, and the characters had... well character. would read again, but i would skip the start. (not that the start was bad, it's just too long.)

White Fang has been on my shelf for over two years. And it only took me one morning to read this. I have the flu so this book seemed perfect because I'm too tired to read anything too complicated right now. I liked the story and the moral behind it.

Read this for the first time as I was reading it to my 8 year old son. We both got very worried that the story would end badly, so I finished the last 3 or 4 chapters by myself to make sure I'd be able to explain it to my son. He's going to love the end.

Read this to discuss with my 9 year old. I haven't read the unabridged book, but this felt heavily edited for a young audience. I didn't love it and wish there had been some character development of the people.

Amazing in one word. The story had an interesting start which was the main reason to read on but this story was a hit for the start, the middle, and the beautiful ending. To the readers who are confused if they should read it or not - you must.

Recently, my 8-y-o came to me with nightmares about wolves, so I thought we'd read about a nice wolf. This book helped in that area, as well as teaching about trust, love, & caring for animals.
