What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas-- *cue sound of a screeching DJ's turndisk....*And OMG, thank goodness everything doesn't remain confined to Sin City because then we'd have missed the absolutely amazing road trip this story turned out to be. With non-stop action right from the start (and seriously, could it have been any other way? The trip takes place in an Aston Martin Vanquish throughout. And yes, that's the James Bond car!), there's never a dull moment in this tale.I loved Glory's character. The funny thing is, we get to see her as a good two shoes who's always thinking of consequences and being utterly rational, yet, the first thing Luke gets asked by one of her acquaintances when he mentions they got into trouble is along the lines of "what did she do now?"The girl's got heart, though, and guts. To take on crazy stalker chicks with gun-toting mercenary crews all while saving the life of a man who accused her of cheating? Go, girl power! And speaking of the man in question, can anyone spell swoon-worthy? Right, that's spelled L-u-k-e, Luke. Another character I loved, because he just felt so real and to watch him turn from the cold magnate into a flesh and blood man who falls in love with unpredictable Glory is a journey to cherish.Have I mentioned the many laughs in there? When Glory starts going on her speeches about the town of Beaux and its inhabitants? I haven't laughed so much in a long time. All in all, a delightful, wonderful story that will keep you riveted throughout and making you turn the page (or flicking the screen!) to find out what happens next. And next. And next.... Take a gamble on this book; you'll not end up the loser, I guarantee this!

Glory has been sent to Las Vegas by her town to win enough money to keep developers at bay in their town. While she is in Vegas she joins a poker game where she meets Luke, a billionaire real estate developer. When another person at the poker game attempts to kidnap Luke the adventure starts...Glory and Luke are so fun together, I can so see a movie of this starring a young Sandra Bullock and I don't know maybe Matthew McConaughy. I love the banter between these two and the sexual tension that builds between these two the longer they are together. I think the getting to know each other helps the other overcome their fears and fight for each other. The end was so heart warming and was the perfect ending. This is the first book I have read by Ms. Barley and I cannot wait to read more of her work.4 stars

Glory went to Las Vegas to win some money. Her plan was to return to her hometown a winner. She did not plan to leave Las Vegas accompanied by an infuriating, handsome man nor did she plan for her life to be turned on its axis. All of a sudden, Glory and Luke find themselves on the run. While keeping their attraction in check and figuring out the reason behind Luke's attempted kidnapping, Glory and Luke try to keep once step ahead of the bad guys. Through it all their attraction deepens and their chemistry comes out to play.I loved the way Aleah Barley went about bringing Glory and Luke together. They bickered, laughed and worried together and underneath it all their connection strengthened and their attraction flared. I enjoyed them together. There was the flirtatious banter, the honest interactions and the easy conversational that flowed between them. Both characters were interesting to get to know. Glory with her quirky personality, sense of humor and vulnerable emotions, was the perfect match for the stubborn, over-protective, alpha-male type that was Luke. I loved him. He was fun and caring and completely adorable in his attraction to Glory. The author did a great job of keeping me interesting in the story from start to finish. I not only enjoyed the dialogue and the romance, I also found the plot entertaining. It wasn't something overtly complicated, but the author paced it right and played it out effectively. I enjoyed Glory and Luke's confusion about what was happening and how their 'adventure' was affected by it.All in all, Leaving Las Vegas was a sweet, romantic read with a little bit of a mystery, a lot of chemistry and a lot of fun!I received this title from the publisher in exchange of my honest opinion.

What a fun and wild ride this book was! I enjoyed every page of action, romance, and witty banter between the characters. The characters were colorful, the adventure was exciting, and the chemistry between Glory and Luke was sizzling. I would definitely recommend this book for anyone looking for a fast-paced romantic suspense novel with lots of humor rolled in to it!Glory Allen is a hoot – speaks her mind, has a heart of gold, and isn’t afraid of what life throws at her. Luke Tanner is hot – wealthy, sexy, and a man who is used to being in charge. Luke knows what he wants, and he wants Glory, at least until he can get her home safe since they have found themselves on the run after a poker game in Las Vegas goes bad.Glory needs to win money at the poker game to help save her town. Luke needs his weekly poker games to help unwind from his real life role as a casino magnate. When someone targets Luke for kidnapping, Glory helps Luke escape. Luke is determined to figure out who is behind the kidnapping, and is also determined to return Glory to her small West Virginia town safe and unharmed. Even though their backgrounds are totally different and they don’t see eye to eye on things, Glory and Luke can’t deny the sizzling attraction that exists between them, but is that all there is between them, or will love have a chance to play its hand?I received an eARC from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Heading to Las Vegas with fifty-thousand dollar from the townsfolk who believed that Gloria can help raise the money that was needed. Why? To save the last vacant property in the town. How? By play a game of poker. But things quickly turn and go wrong, when one of the other players, Tiffanette pulls a gun demands all the money… and has some henchmen come into the game room. Tiffanette is having a “tiff” but why?Luke one of the other player should have protection/a bodyguard but not with him… “I think the robbery was sham. Someone paid Tiffanette to kidnap me. She’s not working alone Whoever it was knew my company would have paid a fortune to get me back - and everything would have been kept quiet. As long as my company paid the ransom, cops wouldn’t have been involved.”“Meaning?”“After you left, Tiffanette shot Bones. I don’t think she meant to but that changed things from bad to as-bad-as-it-can-get for her”Why and who? Will Gloria get the money that she needs to save the last vacant property? This book with its alternating POVs as well written dialogue which I did find amusing…“This thing is more temperamental than Cara May during a hot flash.”It was a fast paced page turning. “You could have warned me it didn’t shoot real bullets” “I did. I said that it wasn’t that type of gun.” Well written and enjoyable treat to read. I received the book for an honest review one that I can honestly say that it was a solid 5 star book to read, thank you.

I loved this fast-paced romantic suspense story between two characters who are opposites, but realize that only together are they complete. Pretty much the only thing these two have in common is a love for playing poker, which is how they originally meet--during a high-stakes poker game. Glory from tiny town Beaux is a fun heroine with a big heart and a lot of spunk, while Las Vegas real estate developer Luke is very much like you imagine the man on the hot cover---clean-cut and elegant with a great body. The dialogue and witty banter had me cracking up! My only complaint would be that the story was a little too fast-paced for my taste. I would have loved to learn more about both Luke's and Glory's back stories. Luke's especially felt a bit glossed over, making it easier to picture and get a feel for who Glory was. She was a very well drawn character, while Luke was a little too generic for my taste. Still, I can see why the editor chose this pace, as this story is primarily an action-packed, fairly steamy love story. Highly recommended for romance lovers who like equal parts romance and action.

Action-packed adventure with the right amount of romance and a sexy get-away car! Enjoyed the character development of both Glory and Luke and how their perspectives of each other changed. I was a bit skeptical in the beginning with the far-fetched plot, but the story got better as it went along and I was pretty absorbed in the plot by the end and wished it was a bit longer. The interplay between Glory and Luke was fun and funny - Glory and her family are also hilarious. There was also an element of mystery/suspense, but it took a backseat to the romance plot. The ending left a good feeling - gotta love HEAs =)

This was the first book I've read from Aleah Barley but it definitely won’t be the last! I found Leaving Las Vegas to be a great read from start to finish. Luke and Glory will leave you smiling and sometimes even laughing out loud as they try to evade gun toting bad guys out for blood. On a wild and crazy ride to West Virginia these two prove that opposites really do attract. Hopefully there will be more books about the other sisters, maybe even the wild cousin that has a knack with explosives? ;o) I received an eARC from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

A really cute read from Aleah Barley! This was a first for me..Im from WV and I don't think Ive ever read a book that's taken place in my home state. There were several references that were dead on. So if youre from a small rural town, youll love that aspect of Leaving Las Vegas! There was just the right amount of heat, suspense and romance in this book! I enjoyed it very much!*ARC received from publisher

4.5* Right from the start this one drew me in. It was just a fun ride. I love both of the characters, Glory from her small town and the big city guy Luke. The chemistry was so tangible between them. It was a non-stop adventure with a great romantic build up. This one just made you have to laugh out loud and smile. It was a very sweet and steamy read.
