BDSM is not usually my cup of tea when I'm reading romance novels, but there was something about this book that struck my interest. I've always found famous people/sports stars interesting and when I read the blurb for this, it definitely sounded like something I might enjoy. Enjoy it, I did! Stella did an awesome job in setting the scene so to speak, for this. It felt like I was on Beale Street and I could feel the humidity as I read the book. Not knowing much about football isn't a deterrent either, most of this takes place off the football field. It's a love story on the very basic level between a man and woman who are fighting against themselves every step of the way. Throw in the media, the nosy public, and the fact that her job could be at stake if they are found out, and you have a whole bunch of awesome! I'm excited to read more by Stella Hunter! I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a spicier romance.

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads Review TeamI'm a big fan of sports romance, and when a touch of D/s is thrown I for good measure, it's all good. This holds an interesting mix of issues together in a well written story. He is a black superstar football player, she is a school teacher who has never found a good enough Dom, so switches. They both want privacy but have their relationship plastered across the tabloids. And somehow they have to navigate new feelings of love and affection, too. I enjoyed the story and the lead characters, but I loved the little cameo roles - Nana, Maggie, Arnie. I will look out for more books by this author.~~Wicked reads Review Team~~

Find this review and more at Lusty Penguin Reviews! The Dom’s Game, A Dark Love Novel: Nothing Grey About It, is an enjoyable erotic contemporary interracial romance by Stella Hunter.Trevor Adams, a wide receiver for the Memphis Kings football team and a Dom, needs to keep his pension for kink on the down low. Trevor reluctantly agrees to allow a friend to set him up with a supposedly perfect for him submissive, middle school teacher Nina Barkley. At their initial meeting, they are instantly attracted to each other. At this point, I was a bit concerned that they were going to hop right to the bedroom without getting to know each other. So I was glad that they did at least talk to each other and have one date before getting into the bedroom. Trevor and Nina’s BDSM play is spicy hot. Unfortunately, I never really felt the connection between these two characters. I had a few too many eye roll moments with some of the dialogue between Trevor and Nina as well as with some of their internal dialogue. I did enjoy Nina’s character as she falls for Trevor, seeing her discover the feelings she has for him and recognize how they are vastly different than she has felt for any other man. I also adored Nina’s relationship with her friend, Maggie. The conversations between Nina and Maggie are engaging and add depth to Nina’s character. On the other hand, I tried really hard to like Trevor, and in the end, I just couldn’t. I grew tired of his constant comments that Nina isn’t his usual type of submissive, which just led me to believe that he isn’t fully committed to the relationship they are building. Anyone having a public relationship with Trevor is putting themselves at risk, he knows this and promises to protect Nina. But, after Trevor’s ex-girlfriend exposes his kinky side, I never really felt that he did his best to protect Nina, which was a turn off to me. Even though Nina obviously loves Trevor, he asks for trust and makes no promises for the future really, which I didn’t enjoy. At times, I thought Trevor just wanted Nina fail at being his submissive, especially the way he sets things up for the scene party that they attend, which bothered me the most. Without giving too much away, the ending just felt a little flat to me. By the time Trevor apologizes to Nina, I found it to be too little too late and not enough in the end to change my opinion of his character.Although, The Dom’s Game didn’t work for me on many levels, I know lovers of the BDSM genre will thoroughly enjoy this erotic romance. Overall, I did enjoy Hunter’s writing style and will definitely read other stories by her in the future.I received an eBook copy of the book for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review, and all conclusions are my own responsibility.

I must admit when I was first asked to read this book I read the synopsis and wondered is this going to be like most BDSM books I have read or will there be something different. Well I am so excited to let you all know that this book is different, yet is deals with a Dom/Sub relationship but you what I loved about this book is you use your imagination, nothing was spelt out right there and then for you. This book will take you by surprise and I am sure you will love it.So we have the super hot and hunky Dom/ Trevor who agrees to be set up on a ‘Blind Date’ so to speak by his friend Arnie. The thing is Trevor who is a NFL football player also has to keep his sexual preferences quiet otherwise it could ruin his career so privacy is the ultimate stipulation for Trevor. Arnie knows this and knows the exact woman whom he feels Trevor will get along nicely with. Here we meet Nina. Nina the local school teacher also has to think of her reputation. She educates minds, she can’t be seen to have a personal life that is not up to the School or Parents standards so for her privacy is of the utmost importance. There is one thing different with Nina though, she is a switch, she has been a Dom and a Sub, but can she be the sub that Trevor needs and wants?Right from the beginning when Trevor meets Nina there is an attraction there that is so strong it takes both of them by surprise. Trevor even doubts himself, he is in a different league than Nina, can he go through with this, and can he get her to be his sub. Nina also has reservations, she is used to being in control, can she give all her control to Trevor and like it or will she hate it. Trevor needs Nina to trust him and give him everything she has which means her giving him her all. There is no doubt about it that from the first moment these two touched each other the sexual chemistry there is electrifying and you can feel it through the words in this book. What I did love is that although there are some sexual references, the author has written the book in a way that makes you use your imagination as to what is going on with these two and I loved every minute of it. It was refreshing to read a book like this and not see every page filled with sexual references or explicit scenes.I am not saying that Trevor and Nina don’t have their differences, they sure do and they have obstacles to overcome, yes there is issues on both sides and uncertainties but the big question is can they overcome it all to make their feelings for each other mature and grow into something more.I would recommend this book to everyone, it is refreshing, great to follow and will keep you reading until you finish.

I have to say this book had mega potential.. I was so excited to finally be able to get to it on my to read list.... only to be let down. This is not at all what I would consider a BDSM book. MAYBE D/s.. barely. Mostly it's just a erotic romance that flirts with and tries to pretend to be more than it is. There is many mentions of being experienced Doms and Submissives and pushing boundaries and all that would normally be in a BDSM book, but thats all it is.. Talk.. There is ONE scene somewhere in the last 1/4 of the book that uses a flogger... incorrectly, but hey it's there. There is another time where she is sore from whatever he did to her, but once again, no details, nothing. I have to say that I marked the book down a full star for not being a BDSM book when it was supposed to be. The other star was gone because all the characters felt flat to me. At times, there would be something special, but all the developing conversations and character growth was skimped on so that the characters could once again have vanilla sex.. Oh well, her wrists might be restrained, but that's not enough into BDSM for me. Sad to say that while the writing style wasn't bad, there really could've used a lot of expanding on how they fell in love in a matter of weeks, what bonded them except that she was a strong willed sub (even though she never REALLY submitted to him in anything except an outfit) when he didn't normally like them (and his ex was quite the strong willed one even if she was a bit crazy - so that ruined that line of thinking for me). Also, it was like there were so many sex scenes, we missed out on what was necessary to feel for the characters. Tender touches, meaningful glances, slow knowing smiles that didn't immediately end up in the bedroom. However, I will stick to if you are going to label a book as BDSM, for the love of all that's written, make it BDSM. I would possibly sample another of this authors work since I felt like a lot of this book fell flat because it wasn't labelled correctly and I found myself waiting for something that never came and was greatly let down... I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

Arnie knew what Trevor was looking for in a sub, if it was anyone other than Arnie who told him that he knew someone to fit the bill, he would have ignored him. Trevor is getting over a bad break up with Zoe who told him that she would go public with the video that she had of them, he payed her off. Trevor told him to set it up at a regular get together, he wont do one on until he makes his own assessment. Nina is getting ready to go to the party to meet the person that Arnie set her up with. Trevor wants a sub that is willing to give her entire self to him, he needs a sub to know and understand that he has her best interests in mind. He also needs someone to let him push the boundries. Nina doesn't think that she can be the sub that he wants, but she isn't willing to give it up. Trevor is a Dominate, he is the newest star player for the Memphis Kings. He has only the best interest for Nina at heart. He spent a lot of his youth moving around. His father is a preacher and he went were ever a church needed him.Nina is a middle school teacher and wants and needs to keep her life quiet. She is a very quiet person and she considers herself to be a switch. Arnie is Trevor's and Nina's friend, he is a Dominate and he introduced Trevor to the alternative scene. Maggie is Nina's friend and she lives through the stories that Nina tells her. She is Arnie's cousin. This is my first book by Stella Hunter and it will not be my last. I loved how well this story was written and how well the characters were developed. I also loved that I felt like I could connect with the characters. I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone. If I could give this book more than 5 stars I would

I was given a copy of the book for a honest review by the author. The Dom’s Game by Stella Hunter is a very enjoyable story of Trevor. He is a famous football player who on his off time is a Dom. It is a secret he has gone to great lengths to protect. However his last submissive tried to blackmail him and threatened to out him to the world. He has been out of the kinky game since the blackmail but is ready to make a return. His close friend has the perfect sub for him. Nina is a school teacher who has a deep dark secret. She is a submissive on her private time. She has not yet found a Dom that can light her fire. Trevor and Nina meet at a kink party and hit it off immediately. The two experience fireworks and the feeling scares them both. When Trevor’s ex comes back she has decided she wants him back. Trevor wants nothing to do with her but if he will not take her back she will ruin him. The ex’s actions not only have an adverse effect on Trevor but on Nina as well. What Trevor does for Nina not only shocked Nina but Trevor as well. This was a nice quick read that had me truly entertained. I give this story 4 1/5 stars.

This is the first book that I’ve read by Stella Hunter, and I was quite pleased with it. I felt that the storyline flowed well, and I enjoyed how the characters were written. This book has been described as “dark” and “BDSM”. I, personally, did not find it dark at all. There are small elements of BDSM in the storyline, but that is not the focus. I felt this to be more of an erotic romance between a Dom and his sub. This is the story of two people who come from two different worlds only to find they are more compatible than they expected. Nina is a teacher who lives a quiet life. No one would ever expect the reserved girl-next-door to enjoy a Dom/sub relationship. Trevor is an NFL player who is looking for a sub, but he’s been burned in the past. Both of them need their sexual tendencies to remain private. So what happens when it’s brought out into the light of the public eye?I would give The Dom’s Game 3.5 stars.*I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.

I really enjoyed reading The Dom's Game! It was a short read, only about 150 pages so I was able to read it in an afternoon. Sometimes Novellas are a perfect read because you are looking for just that type of book to fill in the gap between books. If so this is your book. Now I read somewhere that this was a dark read. Not sure what they are talking about because it wasn't dark at all. Yes, it is BDSM themed. This is also an interracial romance and I really loved Trevor and he lived up to his promise to Nina and no I can't tell you what his promise was because you need to read their story. I do love a strong dominant Alpha male and you get one in this book.I received this ARC for honest review and I look forward to reading more of Stella Hunter's books. I give The Dom's Game a 4.0 OOOO's (O's for Orgasms)

** Provided on behalf of the author for an honest review **From the moment Trevor Adams, an NFL player and constantly in the spotlight, meets Nina Barkley, a quiet school teacher, he knows there is something different about her than other women he has had relationships with.Even though their lives and occupations are miles apart, they both share an interest in BDSM.Trevor is a Dom while Nina considers herself a switch. Will the threat of their private lives being exposed, the media who follow Trevor wherever he goes or the threats made by Trevor’s former sub tear them apart, or do they have what it takes to make this relationship work??All these questions are answered in Stella’s short novel, “The Doms Game”.An easy read for those who may have not ventured fully into the literary world of BDSM.We rate this book a 4 star read.

♡♡Reviewed by Book Fancy Blog♡♡I gave this book 4 stars! Wow! This book set my kindle on FIRE! From the beginning to the end I was hooked. Stella has brought her A game on writting the sizzling sex scenes. I love how Travis set his sights on Nina and how Nina teaches Travis how to love. I wished that Stella would have told more what happen to Travis career, buts doesn't take away from the story.Travis is a NFL star and a Dom. Nina is a school teacher and a switch. Can Travis get Nina to trust and submit or will they walk away to save their careers? Stella has beautifully written this story. You can feel the emotions of the characters. Looking forward to reading more from her.
