It only the actions of her concerned father that save her from this fate worse than death. Or so it seems, until she discovers that her father’s plan is to send her hundreds of miles away to Lord Callum’s castle in Inverness, as servant and cook to a disfigured beast of a man, hidden from all but those who dare enter his maternal grandfather’s home. Which is worse? Marriage to a monster, or servant to a beast? In this original Regency fairytale the classic tale of Beauty and Beast takes a decidedly romantic Regency turn....

Sweet love story This book was a-feel good story. It was a lesson about seeing people with your heart more than with your eyes. Well written getting all that was needed for a short story.

Nicely done rewrite of the fairytale without the spell of magic. Instead, I totally enjoyed the fact that the beast is a facially scarred war hero and the bride a tormented, by her stepmother, young girl. Clean and well written.

Wonderful Beauty and the Beast storySamantha's life is a misery at the hands of her cruel stepmother. She is treated worse than a servant, and now her stepmother is plotting to marry her off to a terrible man.Her father spirits her away to Scotland to be a servant in the castle of Lord Alistair who was dreadfully wounded in the war and now has a hideously scarred face. Samantha is frightened but she is safe from her stepmother here.

Very goodI enjoyed this version of the Beauty and the Beast fairy tale. The characters were very sweet and although it was a quick read, I feel that Samantha and Alistair were still portrayed well. It was a short story rather than a novella so I need to remember that when I complain about the characters not being as full of depth as in a novella or full length novel!
