Favorite Science Fiction Stories 1-3 are a collection of some of the greatest short stories of the sci-fi genre. Ninety five percent of all the stories in the collection are top notch, fun, thought provoking and most importantly reflections of the best and worst in man, his promise and his folly. The other five percent are pretty great too. These books are a buffet of the cool, weird and the intriguing and unlike normal buffets you never get sick of gorging yourself :PAnd just for fun :)

This is a collection of most ridiculous and silly stories from long time ago. They are so far diverging from reality, so completely unbelievable, unrelatable, some of them counter-stientific today, that only stubbornness made me go through the whole caboodle. I won't rate it one star the collection is worth in my book because I feel it would be unjust to judge these old stories with the knowledge of today which these authors couldn't have, living in the time they lived.

I'm in no real hurry to get to this one. I just clicked through the audiobook and it seems as if the title should have been "Sci-Fi's worst narrators" or "The ghosts of books on tape's forgotten past".Seriously, the quality demanded of audiobooks has become too great to let crap like this out into the world.

There are a wide range of stories here to enjoy. We are currently beyond many of the temporal settings in this book, so it's a mixture of insightful and quaint notions about the future. Heavy on robots, military structure, and the struggle of democratic rule against other forms of government.
